Randy Wilkins is an experienced trial lawyer with broad experience in business disputes, personal injury, creditors' rights and bankruptcy and legal malpractice. In his nearly 30 years in practice, Randy has had significant victories with a particularly impressive record in class action tax refund cases. He has been lead counsel in a number of class action lawsuits, including the largest class action award in Arizona history.
Representative Engagements
• Acting as lead plaintiff’s counsel in Arizona Department of Revenue vs. Dougherty, the largest class action in Arizona history in which $350 million of illegal taxes were refunded to over 750,000 Arizona taxpayers;
• Acting as lead plaintiffs’ counsel in Kerr v. Killian and senior counsel in Bohn v. Waddell, constitutional tax refund cases, in which more than $160 million of illegal taxes were refunded to more than 140,000 Arizona taxpayers;
• Acting as senior plaintiffs’ counsel in several legal malpractice cases in which multi-million dollar recoveries were obtained;
• Arguing numerous matters before the Arizona Court of Appeals and the Arizona Supreme Court;
• Authoring the update to Chapter 6 of the Arizona Attorneys’ Fees Manual concerning common fund attorneys’ fees awards.
