Meet B&C Attorney Sharon Oscar

Published on in Meet Our Attorneys

I am a real estate and equine law attorney; and, sometimes, I am fortunate enough to have the two practices merge, such as purchasing horse properties for clients.

My real estate practice in Arizona began as in-house counsel to title companies (claims and underwriting counsel), so I learned real estate from the ground up (yep, pun intended) and learned what it is like to be the client to outside counsel. I entered the private sector in 1989.  I handle all types of commercial real estate transactions, including retail, office, industrial, vacant land and farm and ranch land, both on the sale/purchase and leasing sides, especially complex leases, and draft/analyze CC&R’s for both commercial and residential developments.  As examples, I represented a buyer on the acquisition, including due diligence, of 23 shopping centers at one time, negotiated shopping center leases on behalf of the owner for a center comprised entirely of ground leases of national tenants, handled the leasing for several national tenants and represent buyers of major tenant income properties for the buyer/landlord. I like to get to know my clients and guide them with both the legal and the practical aspects in mind, including the costs involved.

My equine law practice grew out of my love of horses and the encouragement of friends and horse/ranch owners who needed help.  I started riding when I was 9 years old, and I have been riding ever since, buying my first horse as my reward for passing the Arizona Bar Exam!  Owning horses and horse properties are emotional by nature, whether selling and buying horse properties or horses, entering into management agreements and leases for horse properties, pre-purchase exams, and just about anything that touches life if you are a horse owner, barn owner, horse association or product supplier to horses (contracts, divorce, entity formation, estate planning, insurance, litigation, releases and waivers, and on and on). While my discipline is hunter/jumpers, I have clients in all disciplines or no discipline at all!  I have volunteered at both the Quarter Horse and Arabian shows and have served on the Board of Directors for the Arizona Quarter Horse Association.

Please take a moment to go to www.bcattorneys.com and go to my biography so you can get to know me better. Thank you.
Sharon
