Jennifer Grumbling of Millennium High School honored as November Star Teacher

Published on in Star Teacher Program

(November 30, 2023…Phoenix, AZ) Our November Star Teacher is Jennifer Grumbling of Millennium High School in Goodyear in the Agua Fria School District. Jennifer heads up the counseling department at Millennium and is also the Key Club advisor. She has been in school counseling for 27 years, the last 11 at Millennium. She is passionate about helping her students with problems, staying in school, college admissions and generally figuring out what to do after high school. She also oversees fundraising events the Key Club hosts to raise money for local charities where they regularly volunteer for events. She was nominated by her friend Caroline McShane who wrote:

Jennifer has worked as an educator in Arizona for many years. Not only does she fulfill duties at her high school, but she is the faculty advisor for the Key Club. I would love for her to be rewarded for her hard work. She helps and provides counseling to teach students to work together, serve others and gain confidence. Her energy and enthusiasm are infectious, and the kids want to work with her and trust her guidance.

When I asked her daughter Danielle (pictured below) if she likes Millennium, she replied “Of course, my Mom is here, and she is my best friend.” That kind of says it all. Jennifer was so excited about the award and said she has never been recognized like this. I think she really deserved it and her key club members agreed based on the cheer they gave her when I made the presentation!

A Valley teacher is chosen each month to receive $500 through a nominating process on the firm’s website Nominations are accepted from students, former students and parents who wish to honor and thank a teacher who has had a profound impact on their life. Many teachers spend their own money to augment the costs of classroom supplies, field trips and other non-covered costs that arise throughout the school year. B&C hopes to alleviate that burden for one deserving teacher each month. In addition, the school where the educator teaches receives a check for $250 to be used at their discretion.

Nominations are open to all teachers in K-12 who teach in Maricopa County. Winners will be notified and then presented a check at their school by a member of Burch & Cracchiolo. Photos and/or video will be taken to post on the firm website and social media. To nominate go to, click on the “Nominate a Star Teacher” button and tell us why you think your teacher deserves the B&C Star Teacher Award.
