Burch & Cracchiolo Attorney Selected as MCBA Young Lawyers Division President-Elect

Casey S. Blais (November 16, 2012…Phoenix, AZ)...Casey S. Blais, an attorney with the law firm of Burch & Cracchiolo, P.A., has been selected to serve as president-elect of the Maricopa County Bar Association Young Lawyers’ s Division (YLD) in 2013.  The mission of the YLD is to involve young lawyers in serving the community and enriching the profession while focusing on the specific needs of new lawyers.  In 2011-2012, Blais served as co-chair of the YLD Law Week committee. 

Blais practices in a variety of areas, including commercial litigation and zoning and land-use planning. He was selected as a Rising Star in the 2012 edition of Southwest Super Lawyers.  He received his J.D. from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University in 2008. Prior to attending ASU, he received his B.A. in Linguistics and Economics from Brigham Young University in 2005. During law school, he received the High Pro Bono Distinction award for his dedication to helping others.

About Young Lawyers Division of Maricopa County Bar Association
The mission of the YLD is to involve young lawyers in serving the community and enriching the profession while focusing on the specific needs of new lawyers.  It also provides great opportunities for members to connect, both professionally and socially.  Membership is open to attorneys 36 years or age or younger or those who have been in practice for less than five years.  The YLD sponsors Law Week events annually in May of each year.  The program hosts an essay contest for junior high students, a public forum based on a law theme and an Ask-a-Lawyer event open to all students.  The events provide an opportunity for students who have an interest in pursuing a career in law to learn and ask questions on a personal basis.
