Defining moment: “Believe it or not, one of the most impactful moments that shaped my road to success happened in high school right here in Phoenix. As a senior, I ran for student body president against a very well-known, popular opponent. Once the election process got underway, I realized what a risk I was taking and I wanted to back out, quit. My mom, Diane Ingold, encouraged me to take it on and she even helped with my pitch, even though I wanted to back out. I ended up being elected and since that time, whenever I’m faced with risk (which happens often), I take it on with belief and focus.”
Defining success: “My definition of success today is a combination of objective and subjective components, where you are able to set, work toward, and achieve professional goals while prioritizing your own personal satisfaction and knowledge that your daily life reflects your actual values. Success to me reflects a very winding path requiring you to adjust and adapt when faced with interim failures — true success doesn’t happen without failures.”
Lasting legacy: “I’m an Arizona native and growing up, I was surrounded by women leaders — both professionally and personally — who led by example and inspired me. If I leave any legacy, my hope is that as a leader and professional I’ve inspired others by leading by example, fostering equity, and helping to create opportunities that empower future generations.”
